International Email Chess Group

IECG - International Email Chess Group - was an electronically based organization, whose aim is to organize, develop and promote the study and practice of international e-mail or server correspondence chess all over the world.

IECG stopped its operations on 31st December, 2010

Due to the fact that email play declines quickly in popularity making it impossible to build tournaments in a reasonable time, and due to the practical issues of email (viruses, spam filters) making this playing mode difficult, IECG has decided to stop its operations in December 2010 and to transfer its activities to the partner the Lechenicher SchachServer Server (LSS).

This site is kept online as a memory to the IECG activity period from 1995 to 2010, and an history oriented, reduced site will be made available. For visitors who want to play correspondence chess, please note: For IECG members:

Ortwin Paetzold, who is one of the IECG founders, manages the LSS in close cooperation with IECG since 2005. The server has an excellent performance, a powerful communication system, and supports several languages. It also covers a full range of Tournaments, please go to the LSS site for more details and request your membership if you are not registered there, we are sure that you will enjoy that place.
