The IECG commissions are working groups formed by the IECG council and reviewed each year. This page gives the composition of the commissions for 2006, and a short description of their mission.

 

Arbiters Commission

The Arbiters Commission (AC) is an autonomous and fundamental decisional board of the IECG that works independently from the Council:

• The AC is the Appeal Instance that the players refer to when they disagree with a Tournament Secretary’s decision.
• The AC decides and keeps tracks of the suspensions to apply to offending players (withdrawals, abuses). It studies requests to be reinstated from suspended persons.
• The AC is also the IECG adjudication board.

Some AC members are specialized in a given task (Ton manages the suspension list, and Mats is the main adjudicator). The five men format of this group allows backup when a responsible is on leave or when a conflict of interest may occur. It also facilitates internal votes must be conducted on difficult decisions.

The Title Commission (TC) formation and missions are detailed in the item F2 of the IECG title rules. The TC checks the validity of norms achieved by our players, and approves the official delivery of the titles.
